Cal Station 5.0

The current version of Cal Station is Version 6.0.  It was released in May 2003.  For those who may still be using the obsolete Version 4.0, this page presents a summary of the new features added at Version 5.0.  After you have reviewed this page, use your browser's Back button or the "up" menu buttons on this page to return to the Cal Station 6.0 page which describes the 5.0 to 6.0 additions.

New Cal Station Features Added at Version 5.0

Graphical Instrument Directory

Use this new tree-structured browser to graphically display all instrumentation and equipment within your plant hierarchy.  In this easy-to-use interface, you simply select a device from the branches of the tree to directly access key management functions, such as Database and History.

Icons Show Instrument Attributes at a Glance

Throughout the user interface (Database, History, Instrument Directory, and Docking windows), new graphical icons now show instrument type, device category, and current calibration status.

Error Calculations

New flexibility is provided to allow user choice of error calculation modes and user definition of a square-root cutoff parameter at the low end of the range.

Calibration Parameters

You can now assign selected calibration parameters such as Read Output Delay individually to each device.

User Requested Features

User suggested improvements include:

More flexible controls in the Docking window let the user customize the list display.

For multi-user systems, you can now display which users are signed on.

bullet

A new Historical Tag style has been created to make possible the generation of a report that lists all devices that were ever assigned to a specified tag name.

bullet

Selected input fields now facilitate data entry by retaining the last several user supplied values in drop-down lists, or by defaulting to the most recent assignment.
